My awesome assistant Lizzie was sick today, but instead of wasting time taking attendance, I just took a photo with my phone so I could update the attendance chart after SingTime today. #ProTip
We worked a bit harder on Psalm 100 memorization. I do a lot of “I say it. You say it.” where I’m pointing my fingers at myself while I say a sentence and then pointing my fingers at the kids for them to repeat it. It works pretty well.
We added a third verse to “The King Of Glory Comes,” and I didn’t offer the uncool tambourines this week. Maybe absence will make their hearts grow fonder of those tambourines!
As we worked on this new third verse to “The King Of Glory Comes”, took some time to more closely consider the words that we were singing. The last sentence of that verse states “He took upon Himself the sins of the nations.” We took a minute to dig deeper into the meaning of that. I started by simply asking if anyone knew what that sentence meant and it lead to a pretty good discussion about Christ’s atoning sacrifice.
